Regular readers may remember my post last year on Elephants for Education a fund raising campaign for the Australian backed Human & Hope Association, a local NGO in Siem Reap run by locals, for locals.
They are back again this year trying to raise just $7,000 for Scholarships for Cambodia, a crowdfunding campaign that will fund educational scholarships for 50 children battling daily poverty in Cambodia.
Supporters will receive handmade education kits, the perfect gift for children this Christmas.“Not only is each kit handmade from traditional Khmer material, but each one is practical and a great way to get kids away from their screens!” says Sally Hetherington, who built up the organisation over four years before returning home to Australia and allowing the operation to be entirely Khmer run.
The campaign runs until October 31st and the $7,000 they hope to raise will provide 50 Cambodian children with education scholarships in 2018.
