Belmiros Pizza and Subs, Siem Reap.

Siem Reap would not be quite the same without the weekly Facebook updates from Tyler, the owner of Belmiros, informing everyone of their upcoming specials and I always look forward to seeing what eclectic dishes he has in store for us.

From guilty pleasures like Chicago Deep Dish Stuffed Pizza or Spicy “PB&J” Chicken Wings to Portuguese Salt & Pepper Calamari or Portuguese/Cape Verde influenced Kale soup, the specials menu at Belmiros is a real feast for the senses; all this is on top of a regular menu offering everything from Siem Reaps biggest pizzas, “Sub” sandwiches, Poutine and more, you will certainly never be left wanting more choice at Belmiros that is for sure!

I generally make it there once every one or two weeks with recent specials including particularly veggie friendly options like their “Summer Fritters” made with Broccoli, Cheddar, Jalapeño, and Quinoa and served with Greek salad and salsa ($7) as well as their “Southwest Hummus Wraps” a homemade tortilla filled with homemade hummus, corn, black beans, diced tomatoes, diced avocado, and lettuce ($6)

I also tried their excellent “Spicy Black Bean Veggie Burger”  made with Black Beans, Onions, Green Peppers, Jalapeno, Corn and Spices with Cauliflower Chips and a Greek yogurt dipping sauce ($7) and shared the mammoth “Gran Presidente Mexican Platter” of Carne Asada Burrito, Roasted Cauliflower and Chickpea Quesadilla, Tacos al Pastor, Chicken Fajitas, Chorizo Tostadas Cups, Black Bean Flautas and Mexican Street Corn ($17) with a friend (who took at least a third of it home for brunch the next day it was so huge!!)

Tyler has got to be one of the nicest people in Siem Reap. A former broker, he has travelled the world accumulating a seemingly never ending supply of great stories and menu inspiration and can be found at the end of the bar most nights, showering people with his legendry hospitality.

In addition to the weekly specials, they have “Wing Wednesdays” with 50 cent chicken wings and “Easy Slider” Fridays with a mug of beer and 3 sliders for $6 as well as live music every Monday night which is always a lot of fun.

*Belmiros is closed for Khmer New Year until April 18th but next weeks specials (including Southern Fried Chicken with Mash, Loaded Potato Skins with Mexican Chilli, BLT Chicken Salad Sub and Pizza Stuffed Zucchini “Boats”) are already up on Facebook and looking as good as always!
