Beirut Grill is in my opinion, one of the better restaurants around Arab Street, and as you might expect from its name serves Lebanese food (as opposed to the mostly Turkish cuisine found more frequently in the area) I had the pleasure of the company of the lovely Laura http://www.expatadventuresinsingapore.com/ one night recently after we had enjoyed a few drinks at the nearby Blu Jazz. All the usual dishes you might expect are on the menu, from hummus to kofta, shish taouk and Fattah and we were really spoiled for choice. In the end we decided to share a mezze platter and I took advantage of the fact that they not only serve shisha as well but it is one of the only places in the area where you can enjoy a glass of wine with your meal too.
We started with the falafel and rakakat (little filo pastry tubes with cheese inside) before digging in to the hummus, babaganoush and moutabal. I was impressed with all of the mezze actually, whilst not up to the standard you would expect in Lebanon they were certainly tasty enough by Singapore standards and we enjoyed our meal very much!
